About usThe ECPR Standing Group on Third World Politics is coordinated by the following group members: Committee![]() Chair PersonLawrence Saez, Ph.D. University of Chicago Lawrence Saez is a Senior Lecturer in Comparative and International Politics, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). His research is focused on comparative political economy, particularly as it pertains to the challenges of economic reform across different industry sectors as well as fiscal federalism in developing countries. He is the author of Federalism Without a Centre: The Impact of Political Reform and Economic Liberalization on India's Federal System (Sage 2002) and Banking Reform in India and China (Palgrave MacMillan 2004). He is the co-editor (with Katharine Adeney) of Coalition Politics and Hindu Nationalism (Routledge 2005). Co-Chair PersonHeather Marquette, PhD Heather Marquette is the Director of the Centre for Governance, Security and the State (CGSS), at the School of Public Policy, University of Birmingham. She is also the Director of the Corruption Research Network (coreNET). She is currently leading research on religion, ethics and attitudes towards corruption. In addition, she is researching the link between corruption, citizenship and civic education in developing countries, with particular attention paid to Kenya and Ghana.
